BIG GUNS HEAD FOR CROFT
Croft Circuit near Darlington will be the venue for one of the biggest meetings of the club race season when the popular North East Motor Cycle Racing Club hosts rounds of thier various championships this weekend, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th July.
With another capacity field set to battle out the various classes, the highlight of the weekend will be the two feature races which sees The Laird of Croft title decided on Saturday with Sunday featuring the famous Ken Redfern Trophy in memory of the local sporting hero from nearby Hutton Rudby.
Ulsterman Kirk Jamison will return to the North Yorkshire track to try to retain the Ken Redfern Trophy which he won for the first time last season and he starts as one of the favourites in the Formula 600 class which will do battle for the Laird of Croft silverware too.
With the NEMCRC Championships hotting up at the halfway stage, Teesside rider Andrew Bennett will be looking to increase his advantage in the Open Unlimited class, as will Kevin Brown (F600) and Mark Lawson (F400) around the full international 2.127 mile circuit.
As usual there is a healthy Scottish contingent entered as well as riders from Ireland and the Isle of Man meaning a truly international flavour whilst in the sidecar classes, expect the likes of Ken Knapton and Ian Bell to be challenging for honours.
There are classes for F125, Classics, Sound of Thunder, Forgotten Era and Minitwins as well as the usual popular categories for Sidecars, F600, F400 and Open class bikes.
Practice gets underway at 9.30 on Saturday with the first of thirteen races from 11.30 and the action starts at 12.30 on Sunday with another thirteen race programme. Adult admission is just £10.00 on both days with accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted FREE on both days.

There is less than three weeks to go until the increasingly popular 2007 Bennetts British Superbike Championship makes a return visit to Croft over the weekend of August 11/12th, and with record crowds again expected, demand for tickets is sure to be high so pre-booking is recommended.
Adult admission costs just £12 for Saturday in advance whilst a Sunday ticket costs just £20 or a weekend admission pass is priced at £28 in advance.
