DUNLOP FESTIVAL HEADS FOR CROFT
Croft Circuit near Darlington hosts the penultimate club car race meeting of the 2007 season when the latest in the popular Dunlop-backed ‘Great and British’ Motorsport Festivals heads north next bank holiday weekend.
Organised by the BARC, the popular series will see capacity grids in most classes and will feature various categories for various sports and saloon cars as well as the Dunlop Pistonheads Hot Hatch Track Parade on Sunday morning at 11.00.
The Dunlop Radical Enduro Championship sees two, forty five minute races over the weekend with Richard Ince and Austin Kinsella leading the SR8 class and in the SR3 class, Bradley Ellis and Phil Bailey hold the advantage.The supporting Dunlop Biduro series for the lesser powered SR4 cars sees John Hewitt leading the series as he looks to increase his advantage over the two, twenty minute races.
The event will also feature two races of the Mini Challenge, which will see the latest Coopers and supercharged Cooper S's battle it out and not to be out-done, the classic Mini's will show they still have what it takes including the iconic Mini Miglia and Mini Se7en models.
Also included on the schedule are two races for the Playstation 2 Ginetta Junior Championship for 14 to 16 year olds with Nigel Moore leading Tom Sharpe by 37 points at the halfway point of the season.
Also included are races for the BARC Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup, the BARC Westfield Sportscar Championship and the ever popular Darlington & District Motor Club-organised Northern Sports & Saloon Championship.
Saturday’s action starts with practice at 09.30 followed by the first of two races at 16.20 and Sunday’s eleven race programme commences at 12.05. Adult admission costs £10 each day with accompanied children aged 15 years and under admitted FREE.
