Croft Nostalgia Festival Is Go!

Rapidly becoming one of the highlights of the summer, the annual Croft Nostalgia Festival, which this year takes place on August 4/5th promises to be another unforgettable event as the North East’s premier racing circuit pays homage to yesteryear.

The event, now in its ninth year, is acknowledged as one of the best events in the north of England, with a mix of exhilarating motorsport, military vehicle displays with living history encampments, classic vehicles from the 1930s to the 1970s and barnstorming flying displays from period aircraft.

Crowds flock from afar to be part of the retro scene at the racetrack near Darlington with many entering into the spirit by donning period clothing and joining in the fun!

Whilst plans are still to be finalised for certain events, the organisers are hoping to have a local celebrity in attendance and with steam engines and bi-planes joining the whole host of other attractions, it’s set to be another ‘must-do’ event in the middle of the school holidays.

The friendly atmosphere at Croft Circuit allows everyone to get close to the race cars in the paddock area along with the military vehicles of all shapes and sizes which are a must for a photo opportunity. The parade laps of the circuit on Sunday morning by classic cars, military vehicles and motorcycles, are not to be missed, as well as the intense action on the racetrack with a full HSCC race programme meaning there is something for the whole family.

With afternoon teas available and a licenced bar, folks can sit back and soak up the atmosphere from times gone by. The weekend’s entertainment in the marquee will be hosted by Colin Bourdiec AKA George Formby who will be serenading with wartime classics and perhaps even dance along to classic tunes courtesy of the harmony trio The Daisy Belles and a live band in the marquee during both days.

There will be trade stalls, food and drink and adult admission in advance is just £12 on Saturday, £17 on Sunday or a weekend ticket costs £25. Children aged 15 and under are admitted FREE, there is FREE car parking and FREE paddock access. For further information, please contact Croft Circuit on 01325 721815.

Meanwhile, advance tickets are now available for the forthcoming Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship meeting at Croft on June 23/24. Starting at just £11 for adult admission, huge savings are available on both day and weekend tickets and for more information please visit
