Croft Circuit is hosting three rounds of the 2022 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship on June 25/26 and in preparation, most of the teams and drivers are making their way to the North Yorkshire track for an exclusive test on Wednesday 6th April.
Normally, such events take place behind closed doors but this year, Croft are offering spectators the opportunity to attend on the day – in exchange for a donation to their chosen charity this year which is Race Against Dementia.
Championed by triple Formula 1 world champion Sir Jackie Stewart, whose wife Lady Helen was diagnosed with dementia in 2014, whilst there will be no admission charge to the test day, a minimum donation of five pounds per person on the gate is requested, all of which will go to the charity. There is no advance booking, just turn up on the day and in doing so, support a worthy cause and see the top BTCC drivers in action.
NEMCRC Club Championships Round 1 – Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th March 2022
2022 Season Ready For Blast Off At Croft
Round one of the popular North East Motor Cycle Racing Club championship series gets the 2022 circuit racing season underway at Croft Circuit near Darlington next weekend (March 26/27) with another capacity field set to battle out the various classes.
Following a couple of COVID-disrupted seasons, the action will again be fast and furious as riders aim to blow off the winter cobwebs in style around the full international 2.127-mile circuit and as usual there is a healthy Scottish contingent entered who will be taking on the best of English riders.

The opening round of the three-round NEMCRC series will also incorporate three major trophies with the prestigious Ken Redfern Trophy being awarded to the overall winner of the Open class whilst the victory in the F600 class will lift the historic Laird of Croft Trophy. On three wheels, the Mac Hobson Trophy will be awarded meaning the sidecars will be hotly contested throughout the weekend once again.
There are classes for GP125, Classics, Post Classics, Lightweight Twins, Pre-injection 600 and Open, Thunderbikes, Mini-Thunderbikes, CB500, Formula 400 and Scooters as well as the usual popular categories for Open Sidecars, 600cc, and Unlimited Open class bikes.
Practice gets underway at 9.30 on Saturday and 12.05 on Sunday with two races per class each day. Adult admission starts at £15.00 on both days in advance or £17.00 on the day with accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted FREE on both days. There is also FREE car parking and FREE paddock access
