After his incredible achievement on finishing the Dakar Rally a couple of months ago, North Yorkshire off-road motorcycle racer Robbie Wallace will be back in his home town of Northallerton this month to relive his adventure.
The 27-year-old electrical engineer contested the toughest motorsport event in the world in early January where, after a fortnight of intense competition in the deserts of Saudi Arabia, he overcame a serious accident as well as covering over 5,500 miles on his X Raids Experience TCC Plant-sponsored 450cc KTM to emerge as top British rider on the world-famous event.
Now Robbie will be featuring in a chat show at the Golden Lion Hotel in Northallerton on Saturday 15th March where not only will he be bringing his battle-scarred bike and protective clothing along, but he will be reliving the two-week epic with a slideshow and videos, some of which were featured on the television coverage.
Around 130 people attended Robbie’s launch evening back in November at the same venue, raising over £7,000 towards his costs to contest ‘Mission Dakar 2025’ and for this ‘Dakar Debrief’ night, all funds raised on the raffle will be donated to charity with the Great North Air Ambulance (GNAAS) and mental health charity Mind as beneficiaries.
Local British Superbike commentator Larry ‘Scoop’ Carter will host the event in the venue’s spacious Yorkshire Suite which gets underway a 7.45pm, with doors open from 7pm and as well as the chat show and raffle with fantastic prizes again, there will be other local motorsporting celebrities in attendance, bar facilities and car/bike parking. Admission is FREE and Robbie will have his remaining merchandise on sale also. Overnight accommodation is available by contacting the hotel directly – 01609 777411.
