Knockhill are thrilled to announce that there will be four former World Rally champions present at the McRae Rally Challenge on July 2/3 with one of them taking part in the event.
First up is the 1995 World Champion, Derek Ringer, who partnered Colin McRae to his memorable title in L555 BAT. Second up, and partnering fellow World Champion Stig Blomqvist in the event, is Carlos Sainz’s long term co-driver Luis Moyà. Both are flying in from Spain especially for the unique rally festival.
Phil Mills, Petter Solberg’s co driver, will be in the hot seat in the rally itself partnering Gwyndaf Evans in a Ford Escort and finally, in a quadruple show of champions, is Tina Thörner who will partner Louise Aitken-Walker demonstrating cars that featured in their illustrious careers.
In addition, the organisers are delighted that Colin McRae’s other regular partner, Nicky Grist, will be in attendance and Ian Grindrod, a long-term co-driver for Jimmy McRae, will be taking part in the event too with a star driver – details to follow!
The event will have a capacity 80 car entry for two days with 10 stages and 40 miles of spectacular rally action, parades, demos, interviews, autograph sessions and so much more.
