After a wonderful weekend of racing when the Bennetts British Superbike Championship made its traditional visit to Cadwell Park over the August Bank Holiday weekend, another instalment of a slightly different kind is heading for the Lincolnshire track next month.

Instead of the bumper crowd witnessing the action on two wheels, this one has a distinctly four-wheeled theme when two prominent members of the Bennetts BSB paddock square off in the NHMC Cadwell Stages Rally which takes place on Sunday 16th November 2025.

Fan favourite Storm ‘Lord’ Stacey will take on pit lane reporter Larry ‘Scoop’ Carter in their battle for supremacy over 40 miles of various routes around the picturesque Cadwell Park circuit, all in aid of charity!

Stacey, who finished tenth in this year’s final Bennetts BSB standings aboard the Bathams AJN Racing BMW, will be at the wheel of his WB Motorsport-prepared 1600cc Ford Fiesta R2 with experienced rally and race driver Carter competing in his Cartersport Motorsport Media-entered 1600cc Peugeot 206 Super Cup car.

The pair hatched the plan at the Bennetts BSB round at Cadwell Park when chatting live on air with the rally challenge gauntlet being thrown down by Carter, which Stacey readily accepted, under the proviso that the ‘loser’ out of the two, donates to mental health charity, Mind.

Since then, the pair have been goading each other both on and off air about the impending challenge with the amount the loser has to forfeit gradually increasing and now stands at £200, so with both drivers having had their entry accepted, the scene is set for a unique showdown.

Storm Stacey: “I’ve only done one rally before but I’m really looking forward to Cadwell Park and kicking Carter’s backside as he’s been giving it large when interviewing me over recent rounds of BSB! It will be a bit different to what I’m used to around there but I’m confident we can put on a good show and when I beat him, I’ll be reminding him of that for all of next season! Hopefully, there’ll be a decent crowd to support me once again and we can raise some money for a worthwhile charity in the process. Bring your top hats!”

Larry Carter:   “Cadwell Park is a fantastic place to compete at, I’ve done a few rallies there over the years, and I’m confident my 23-year-old 206 can get the better of Stacey’s all-singing modern Fiesta R2 as it knows its way round Cadwell! Going down the Mountain and the centre service road will be fun! Even in the unlikely event that I have a major problem and Stacey beats me, I’ve told him I’ll match his donation to the charity, but it will be good to see him cough up first. Either way, if we raise some decent money for Mind, it will be a job well done.”

Starting at 09.00, as well as the rally action which features 100 cars utilising various routes and directions of the track and service roads, and will see the final stages run in darkness, there will be a Fireworks spectacular to round off the day around 18.30.

Discounted tickets are available in advance costing £22.00 for adults, £13.00 for 13–15-year-olds with children under 13 admitted free along with free car parking and paddock access. Further details are available at www.cadwellpark.co.uk/2025/november/rally-&-fireworks
